Senior Pump & Motor Technician

The Senior Pump & Motor Technician serves as lead worker over Pump and Motor Technicians and Mechanical Maintenance Workers; schedules and assigns work; trains and provides technical assistance; ensures completion of assigned work and that safe work methods are followed. This position troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and installs a variety of District appurtenances; locates, tests, operates, repairs, maintains, and installs mechanical equipment and components including pumps, motors, valves, and related appurtenances; fabricates, repairs, and installs a wide variety of mechanical equipment; and generates and maintains Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Qualifications include graduation from high school or equivalent, and four years’ experience in operation and maintenance of pumps, electrical motors, and industrial engines in water or wastewater agency. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Class C California driver’s license is required. A California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Plant Maintenance Technologist Grade 2 certificate is preferred. Possession of a State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Water Distribution Grade 2 (D2) certificate is desirable.
