Wastewater solids spill

Post Date:11/28/2014 3:31 PM

The Vallecitos Water District experienced an overflow of approximately 400 gallons of wastewater solids early this morning.  The solids spilled out of a pressurized sewer pipe located at the District’s Meadowlark Water Reclamation Facility in Carlsbad and into a storm wet well that releases into San Marcos Creek. Vallecitos crews acted quickly to stop the flow to the wet well, minimizing the amount of solids that flowed to the creek to approximately 200 gallons.
