Jr. / Sr. High School Video Contest winner announced
In December of 2014, the Vallecitos Water District held its first ever video contest, open to all Middle and High School students within the District's service area. Keeping in time with the District’s Drought Level 2 declaration in 2014, the theme was "A week without water." The contest challenged entrants to create a video about what life would be like without running tap water for a week to help the community understand the true value of our most precious resource.
This year's first place winner is Arianna Arango, a Junior at Mission Hills High School.
In addition to receiving a cash prize, Arianna received a college shirt of her choice, donated by the Palomar College GEAR UP Partnership Program and a frozen yogurt party, donated by Menchie's. Arianna was recognized at the February 4th Board of Directors meeting, where community partners where also thanked for their generous donations.
