Public Safety Power Shutoff
Are you concerned about San Diego Gas & Electric’s potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs and if it could affect your water service? Rest assured, Vallecitos is well prepared in case power is shut off to our service area. By investing in our infrastructure, Vallecitos now has auxiliary power generators at key facilities to make sure that the District’s pump stations continue to fill the reservoirs that provide our customers with fresh water in case of an outage.
Vallecitos’ staff is highly trained and has extensive experience dealing with many different emergencies, such as power outages and fires. To be proactive, Vallecitos monitors the weather daily, so even before the Santa Ana conditions began and SDG&E made their announcement, Vallecitos’ Water Operations Team had already increased the water levels of our storage reservoirs to ensure that sufficient water would be available for residents and fire fighters, if needed.
For information and updates on SDG&E's potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs, go to the SDG&E website.

Note: In case your power is turned off, we highly recommend that you check your irrigation timer to ensure that the scheduled run times did not default to a factory-installed setting during the outage. If this occurred, reprogram your timer right away to prevent a high water bill.
