Level 2 Drought Alert Declared
  Customers Must Reduce Water Use by 10%

             In response to Vallecitos' wholesaler cutting water supplies to the region, Vallecitos  declared a Level 2 Drought Alert to lower water demand by 10 percent so that it falls in line with the wholesaler's allotment cut.  

The Level 2 drought alert prompted mandatory water-use restrictions and drought-rate pricing for Vallecitos customers starting July 1, 2009.  However, Vallecitos will not seek further reductions from our "Frugal Users" - who use five units or less each month.
