Water Quality Reports
One-hundred percent of Vallecitos Water District water is imported from our wholesalers: San Diego County Water Authority and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Your water meets or exceeds all water quality standards relating to public health and aesthetics, like taste, odor and color, set by the California Department of Public Health and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The water has received over 200 types of tests, been filtered and disinfected before entering Vallecitos Water District's water distribution system. The wateris further sampled and tested by VWD specialists at the reservoirs and many checkpoints throughout the District.
Vallecitos buys water from the San Diego County Water Authority, which is the largest purchaser of water from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD). MWD owns and operates the Colorado River Aqueduct, and buys the most water from the State Water Project for delivery of Bay-Delta water to Southern California. Once water enters the boundaries of Vallecitos Water District, it is delivered to you through Vallecitos' large, well- planned system of pumps, reservoirs and more than 260 miles of pipelines.
