Water outage: On Sunday, August 19, there was a water main break affecting many of the residents of Coronado Hills. All homes east of Indian Ridge (including that road) are out of water. Vallecitos crews are on site making the repairs. The estimated time for water service to be back on is Monday at 2:00 AM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Traffic alert: From August 6 through Monday, August 20, motorists can expect multiple lane closures along eastbound San Marcos Blvd. from Viewpoint Dr. to Knights Realm and westbound San Marcos Blvd. from Knights Realm to Rancho Santa Fe Ave. These closures will accommodate major roadway repair work resulting from the water main break that occurred on Tuesday, July 24 due to a decades-old corroded pipe. The Mechanical/Electrical Department performs new installations, maintenance and
repairs of equipment located in the District's water, wastewater and reclamation facilities. Such equipment includes pumping, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, which provide water and wastewater services to the District’s customers.
The department’s staff ensures the operational readiness of the
District’s water and sewer facilities, which was put to the test during
the “Great Blackout of 2011”. This region-wide power outage was the
largest power failure in California’s history. Due to the foresight to have
back-up systems in place, such as generators at water and sewer pumping stations, not a single Vallecitos customer was out of water or sewer service during this time and the water was safe to drink.
