Jennifer Kerschbaum, P.E., was elected to the Vallecitos Water District board in 2024.  She is a licensed civil engineer and a long-time community volunteer.

Her professional background spans water resources design, environmental engineering, and construction management. She worked in the private civil engineering industry for a decade, designing numerous water, sewer and storm drain systems now serving residents in San Marcos and Carlsbad. Ms. Kerschbaum also has experience in the federal government as a Navy Civilian Engineer at Camp Pendleton. At Camp Pendleton, she oversaw a $370M construction program, which included barracks, dining halls, and a wastewater treatment plant. She currently works as a Senior Project Engineer for a local consulting firm.

Beyond her professional work, Ms. Kerschbaum is a dedicated community volunteer. She has held several leadership roles in parent-teacher organizations and has served in appointed positions with public agencies, including the City of San Marcos and Clean Energy Alliance.

Ms. Kerschbaum resides in San Marcos with her husband and three children. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UCLA.
