Water-use efficiency is a critical part of the region’s long-term strategy to ensure adequate water supplies. To help ease the transition to a more water-efficient home or business, several water conservation rebate programs are available for Vallecitos Water District customers. Turf Replacement Rebates*
Turf replacement rebates may be offered through Vallecitos' wholesaler, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD). For qualified applicants, incentives may provide a reimbursement of $2.00 per square foot to replace water-intensive turf grass with landscaping that provides an array of environmental benefits through MWD's Turf Replacement Program. County of San Diego rebates
The County of San Diego’s Waterscape Rebate Program offers financial incentives and technical support to help residents reduce outdoor water use and create more sustainable landscapes. The program includes rebates for turf replacement with drought-tolerant and native plants, as well as rain-saving features such as rain barrels, cisterns, and landscape systems that capture and reuse stormwater. These improvements can lower water bills, reduce maintenance, and enhance the beauty and environmental benefits of your outdoor space.
